Sketch Series: Draw Objects with Derek Cascio
You’re stuck at home, why not learn to draw from the experts?
The human brain is wired to communicate through pictures. Even in our ever-increasingly-digitized world, representing your ideas quickly and visually is just as important as ever. Let’s have some fun and draw together.

Rapid visualization, aka Sketching, is a skill that can be learned and practiced. And it’s a skill that never goes out of style. We’re kicking off a multi-month series on sketching, featuring the best in the biz, across every design field — because every design discipline has a unique way of communicating visually, and we can all learn from each other.
First up, we’ll focus on object drawing with Derek Cascio, a designer, illustrator, and Assistant Professor of Industrial Design at Wentworth Institute of Technology — and he’s one of the best sketchers out there. He has spent much of his career pursuing endeavors at the intersection of education and design. He is the co-founder of Design Museum Boston and 4th Law Labs, an educational gaming company. (You can follow Derek on Instagram @derekcascio to see more of what he’s up to.)
Join us, follow along with the exercises, or sit back and enjoy the insights and skills of a world-class sketcher.
