Alfred Byun has designed award-winning spaces for some of the world’s most innovative technology and creative companies, balancing research, data and analytics with a keen understanding of the human experience to create transformative work environments.

As a Design Director of the Strategy Lab, Alfred’s approach is deeply rooted in the notion of co-creation. Guided by an astute and inquisitive nature, he collaborates closely with companies to extract their unique objectives and design creative architectural solutions that embody organizational values, spark team synergy, and enhance workplace experience.

Alfred’s expertise in workplace design spans a broad spectrum of project types and scales, from small technology start-ups to large-scale company campuses and flagship headquarters. He has collaborated with such high-profile brands as Reebok, on the relocation of their headquarters to Boston’s Seaport District, and Partners HealthCare, on a ground-up new administrative campus in Somerville. A committed future-forward thinker, Alfred partnered with Reebok on a proposal to convert gas stations nationwide into a network of fitness and community hubs, an initiative that garnered coverage in over 35 publications globally.

Alfred is a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University, his alma mater, and a Think Tank Member with the Design Museum’s Center for Workplace Innovation. A leading voice in the latest conversations around Boston’s innovation-focused real estate and development market, he is active in industry events around the region, and served as a keynote speaker for the Design Museum’s Workplace Innovation Summit.
