Alan Scott

Senior Consult, Intertek

Alan is a registered architect and sustainability enthusiast with over 30 years of professional experience. After spending the early part of his career in traditional design practice, for the past 20 years he has served as a sustainability and building performance consultant for built environment projects throughout North and South America. As a teacher and facilitator, he has conducted workshops and presented at conferences on three continents, and served for over eight years as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Faculty. Alan currently works as a Senior Consult with the Intertek Building Science Solutions team. In his work and writing, he is exploring the intersections of sustainability, wellness and resilience in the design of buildings and communities.

In addition to serving on the Design Museum Portland Board, Alan also volunteers his time on the boards of Solar Oregon and the Eco-School Network. Although the frequency always seems deficient, he enjoys recreational hiking and biking with his two daughters.
