What is the Gala Dinner?

Enjoy the full night-long Design Museum celebration! Start the night with specialty cocktails and multi-sensory snacks while you browse and bid on the Silent Auction. Then, sit down for a multi-course dinner during which you will hear from our keynote speaker Desmond Marzette. Don’t go to bed yet – your dinner ticket also includes access to the Gala Social! This is when your senses will be challenged and explored with our design partner curated experiences.

What is the Gala Social?

Arrive at 8:30pm, after the Gala Dinner, and enjoy a night full of cocktails, dessert, and multi-sensory experiences!

What time should I arrive?

Gala Dinner guests should plan to arrive at 5:30pm in order to bid on silent auction items. The silent auction will close promptly at 6:30pm, and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to bid!

Gala Social guests will arrive at 8:30pm for the after hours celebration.

How do I get to the event?

If you choose to drive, there is valet parking at the Field Office Garage at 1895 NW Front Ave or street parking around the building. Bus 16 also drops off right in front of the building if you choose to take public transit. Note that the train tracks back up to Field Office, and delays might occur. Please plan accordingly!

Is the event accessible? 

Field Office is fully accessible and ADA compliant. If you are in need of arrangements or additional assistance to reach the event, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.

What is the dress code?

We encourage creative orange cocktail – whether you interpret that to mean a swanky suit, cocktail dress, or other creative and colorful attire! Orange is our favorite color.

What is the deadline for sponsorship?

Print Materials: October 1, 2019

Payment in Full & Guest Names: October 14, 2019

Who comes to this event?

We anticipate 150 – 200 guests at the Gala Dinner, and an additional 100 guests at the Social. Design Museum has a wide range of local and national supporters. We work closely with creative professionals across all design-allied industries. Our community consists of CEOs, Presidents, and Principals in the real estate, architecture, design, interior design, advertising, and finance fields.

Where does the money raised at this event go?

Funds raised at this event immediately support our mission to bring the transformative power of design everywhere. Because of our unique business model we have practically no overhead, meaning all of our funding goes directly into making our most important programs and exhibitions come to life:

  • We Design •  This exhibition, premiering in 2020, will explore the creative professions and the diverse individuals who thrive and excel in their fields.
  • Workplace Innovation Summit • This Spring 2020 Summit demonstrates how design and innovation can shape the workplace, from inclusive organizational strategy to accessibility.
