The field of Architecture is changing. The profession, historically male-dominated, has witnessed the growth of women architects, rising stars, that are altering the history of the field and are creating iconic architectural designs.
Making Space/5 Women Changing the Face of Architecture captures the lives, passions, and work of 5 world-renowned female architects; Annabelle Selldorf (New York), Marianne McKenna (Toronto), Kathryn Gustafson (Seattle and London), Farshid Moussavi (London), and Odile Decq (Paris).
The documentary, by Amici Productions LLC and directed by Ultan Guilfoyle was selected for the 2014 Architecture & Design Film Festival, New York and will be presented for first time here in the Pacific Northwest by Design Museum Portland. Join us as March 29th at Hollywood Theatre as we celebrate women in architecture with a screening of this outstanding documentary.
Special thanks to Making Space Event Sponsor, Mahlum Architects: “This film shares the exceptional work of five talented designers helping to shape our built environment. I understand how tough it can be as a woman in architecture, so we are delighted to support Design Museum Portland’s celebration of their work.” – Diane Shiner, AIA LEED AP, Operations Partner, Mahlum
