Design Museum Mornings with Emily Klein, Flexwork Global

Three quarters of the total U.S. workforce will be mobile by the year 2020. The ability to work remotely or have the freedom of choice within the workplace optimizes staff performance, company efficiency, and work effectiveness. Companies are faced with the challenge of adapting to the idea of choice within their work strategy, policy, and employee training and engagement. The times are changing and the way we work is changing too.

June’s Design Museum Mornings presentation features Emily Klein of Flexwork Global. Utilizing case studies, research, and experiences from the field, Emily and her colleague Karen Kelly have created a roadmap that allows organizations to create virtual workspaces and teams that are always connected. Her presentation will touch upon the importance of choice in the workplace and discuss solutions for providing choice while fostering stronger teams and business efficiency. This presentation kicks off at 8:30 am on the morning of June 23rd at Knoll, and will feature audience Q&A, breakfast, coffee, and plenty of great design discussion, sponsored by Knoll and Office Resources.

Doors open at 8:30 am; Presentation begins at 9:00 am.

What is the Center for Workplace Innovation?

Well-designed workplaces translate into higher productivity, happier teams, longer employee retention, and increased revenue. Workplace innovation is a multidisciplinary endeavor, involving many design disciplines: architects, interior designers, furniture designers, product designers, graphic designers – it also involves business leaders, entrepreneurs, behavioral scientists, organizational behavior experts, and more.

The Center for Workplace Innovation at Design Museum Foundation exists to demonstrate how design and innovation can transform the way we work. The Center is part think tank and part resource – a hub for content and inspiration, cultivating a global community of thought leaders to advance the field. Our goal is to educate and inspire, to drive change in workplaces around the world.
