Teen Portfolios 2021

Neighborhood Design Project

Prototype for a park design by Team 7 a.k.a. Kick ‘em Out the House

How might a group of teens provide support to the unhoused in the City of Cambridge? Or ensure equitable access to recreational equipment? Or keep bikers safe at night?

In the Spring of 2021, Neighborhood Design Project brought together 45 Cambridge teens to identify issues in their communities and design their solutions. A cohort of educators and design professionals guided the teens and supported them as they investigated and prototyped solutions for local issues like street safety, youth mental health, and social connections during quarantine.
